About the Cruise for the Kids
Kick off your summer by supporting Children's Crisis Treatment Center's (CCTC) 13th Annual Cruise for the Kids!
CCTC's Cruise for the Kids has become one of the most anticipated events among Philadelphia's young professionals, featuring live reggae music, fantastic raffle drawings, great food, drinks, and fun... for a very worthy cause. With 300 guests joining us in 2012, we raised $50,000 to support CCTC's programs and services.
The Cruise was born of the Friends of CCTC in 2001 as a way to generate more funding for the agency while simultaneously gaining supporters at a fun event. The first Cruise was held at Rock Lobster. Since then, the Cruise has been held at Hyatt Regency Hotel, World Café Live, the Moshulu at Penn's Landing and Water Works Restaurant and Lounge. The Cruise has moved to a new season and is going back to the Moshulu at Penn's Landing.
As the Cruise continues to grow, CCTC has been fortunate to have the involvement of many phenomenal individuals from Philadelphia and its surrounding communities who remain dedicated to CCTC's mission.
Proceeds from the Cruise allow CCTC to continue providing behavioral health services to children in Philadelphia who experience learning and behavioral challenges, have been abused or neglected, or have witnessed extreme violence. Currently, CCTC serves over 2,400 children and their families each the year through its Center, School and Community-based programs.
Why does CCTC host such a large event every year?
- To raise funds to support the agency's mission
- To create awareness of CCTC's programs and services
- To gain partnerships with corporations and individuals in an effort to increase the sources of funding support for the agency
